Welcome! I am a professor of computer science/computing. My current position is Full Professor in Software and Information Systems in the College of Computing and Informatics at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

Research
My research is in Human-computer interaction and Computer Science Education. Some areas that I have studied include personal information management, information refinding, tools for building interactive systems, digital libraries, use of computers for education, and cultural influence in interface design.
Teaching
I typically ITSC 2214 Data Structures and Algorithms.
Professional Service
I participate on a number of groups and organizations inside and outside of UNCC as part of my commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in academia and professional service.

- Member of the Committee on Women in Science, Engineering and Medicine at the National Academies of Science, Engineering.
- Co-Founder of the Hispanics in Computing group and manager their listserv and website.
- Website manager for the SIGCSE organization.
